Pre-weekend vibes
-Kaasupullomies ei tule, kuulostaa vähän kylmältä suihkulta. Olemme odottaneet vuoroissa.
-Nenä tukossa. Taas. Hitsi.
-Syyssateet alkoivat. Minulla on onneksi vettähylkivä lintutakki.
-Andalucialainen aksentti aiheuttaa hillittömiä naurukohtauksia kun sille päälle sattuu. Vaaamooo. A-ta luego. Do agua. Adio.
Smoothly landing on the weekend. Much love.

Apricot jam and overcast
Still few more images from that excursion to Chipiona last week.
***
It's a public holiday in here today, so I'm chilling at home. It seems a bit overcast, maybe it's a good day to grab my camera and take few pics. But first things first: it might be past breggie time but I'm still having my toast with olive oil, cheese and apricot jam. Mjam.
Getting started slowly today.

The Spanish vices
This city makes you walk, makes you sweat and gives you blisters on the heels. This city also pushes you on the dancefloor and makes you party.
The spaniards only start to get going at 3am. We need to assimilate. But we also need to sleep! My roommate was told that 'babies go to sleep at 11pm' and my own empirical observations prove the point. Little kids still play, run and climb on those jungle gyms after midnight so I guess it's no wonder the partying lasts until (and after) seven in the morning for the grown-ups. It's good fun though, I must say, and it's nearly surprising how long you can go just with the help of peach-juice and sparkling water. (The girls giggle about my zumo de melocotón -fix. I am not too curious to know how much sugar that stuff contains.)
This city makes you shop as well. Uah. Confession time, list your vices, everything on the table now. Yes, I've bought shoes. I dare to say my new zapatos are pretty close to perfect. Love 'em.
Okay now, time to get on the streets and fix some food on the table -the eating hours are yet another thing to assimilate to: grocery stores and kitchens close roughly from 3.30pm until 9pm. Yeaterday we were late so my lunch was replaced with a croissant and a frappucino. Oh and there goes yet another vice on public too: coffeine is indeed part of my days again. It's good down here and I love getting my cafe con leche on my way to work.
Just to smoothen the list of vices, I must say I really love my yoga classes here, too.
:-)
Love and happy thoughts for your Sunday! Let your mind find a balance. (And let me find some food, seriously!)
Hasta luego.

Feeling nice
Weekends feel nice.
Have I already told you how I like Sevilla?
Borrowed my roomie's cam the other night, I want to have a handbag sized camera too! (Dear Santa and so forth.)

Greetings from the coast
Happy girl, lucky fish, smiley face. Greetings from the coast! More pics, here you go. Chipiona was little, hum, ghosty this time of the year but it suited me just fine -loved the ambandoned ambience and that murky twist the autumn breeze gave to the village.
Just one unpleasant thing: I fell on the street in Chipiona. I don't know how it happened, I guess I stumbled upon something, and soon enough I was on the ground. I got quite a bang on my head too when it hit the wall and things went dark for few seconds. I had time to think I'm too tired to get up, that I just want to lay still, but luckily that feeling went past rapidly and I was on my feet again. Afterwards I kept feeling a bit dizzy and now my knees are a nice combo of red, blue and yellow, my left wrist is a bit achy, I have a blue mark even on my shoulder (!) and the poor head of mine, well, something bit swallen in there, too. Oh well. Things happen and this was indeed unexpected. Walking is dangerous.
Out of town
Been outta town this week, first Monday and now for the past two days. Went down to Chipiona for work and decided to stay there over night too to avoid the two-hour ride back and forth between Sevilla and the coast. Was refreshing, litterally, to be on the coast -wind was blowing somewhat hard and the breaking waves were getting bigger, splashing tons of water on the beach-side walk and letting the moist and fizz fly around, even meters away.

The Spanish way
Can't believe I've been here for nearly two weeks -time's flying and fast!
I'm really enjoying my little reality simulator en estilo español, Sevilla suits me well. I like my job, my home, my flat mates, my hoods.. All's good, life's good.
Have a fantastic weekend!

Mahtavaa viikonloppua!

Takin' it easy
Yesterday, for the first time, I managed to navigate my way through the labyrinthine streets without my map -and didn't even get lost. Hooray!
Public holiday today. Takin' it easy, as usual. I think we girls figured out the Spanish way of living quite fast.

Saludos
One week of language school down, few days of work behind and still alive, heat up up up (steady plus 30 celcius daily), little too much of heat in my system too (got feverish and all sneezy), three sweet flat-mates and a lot of good times.
I'm settling in, quite liking this city. Very happy I got the chance to try this out.
Saludos! See you soon.

Lähtökuopissa
For some days now, I've been trying to pick the books I'll pack with. I wasn't getting anywhere, there was always too many options to choose from. I decided to set a limit. Three. This far I know I'll take one Paul Theroux travel account and a book with couple of articles I should go through. I think the third place might go for a heavy book but a light read about migration and food through India, Uganda and the UK (it looks yummy).
I'm leaving this eve. Looks like I'm dragging my laptop along this time, so maybe I'll get into blogging too while in Spain.
Bye now!
Oh, and a little smiley face, too :-)
Love,
Martta
P.S. I got a letter from China few days ago, I got so excited I made a little dance when I got it to my hands. Just wondering if the European post officers got all that dancy at all because in the address 'Finland' was marked only in Mandarin. I mean, I assume those twinky symbols were saying Finland. And that it was Mandarin. Anyhow, it made it to me. Hooray! (I love real mail. Hih. And now I feel like hearts, yes lets add some hearts <3 <3 <3)
Love,
same
